January’s Diabetes Roundtable
The happy healthcare host, Mr. Divabetic kicks off the New Year with his popular Diabetes Late Nite podcast. On Tuesday, January 14, 2014 this action- packed hour of wellness is inspired by Grammy Award nominee Sara Bareilles.
Sara Bareilles achieved mainstream success in 2007 with the hit song, “Love Song,” which brought her into the number one spot on the Billboard Pop 100 chart. She has sold over one million records and over four million singles in the Untied States alone and has been nominated for a Grammy Award five times.
Sara Bareilles’s latest album, “The Blessed Unrest” is nominated for Album of the Year Grammy Award. Her song, “Brave” is nominated for Best Solo Performance Grammy Award.
Sara teamed up with fun’s Jack Antonoff to write the song. Bareilles’ lyrics, were written for one of Bareilles’ friends who was struggling to come out to his family. With its chorus of “Say what you wanna say/And let the words fall out/Honestly I wanna see you be brave,” the song quickly resonated with the LGBT community, including Star Trek alum George Takei.
“The message of the song felt anthemic to me personally,” Bareilles said of the song, which she wrote not only for her friend, but also as a way to address her own demons. “But I didn’t really realize that it was going to connect in the way that it did, and it’s really amazing to watch this song sort of take on a life of its own.”
Throughout this wellness of wow podcast, we will be playing clips of Sara Bareilles songs courtesy of SONY MUSIC.
